What You Can Do

An open letter from Rev. William Owens.

Do you ever feel out of step with the main stream of popular culture? I sure do! But I want to tell you something. We aren't the ones who are out of step.
I am convinced that the majority of Americans share our values of Faith and Family, but the men and women who weave the fabric of our culture choose to ignore us.

We at the Coalition of African-American Pastors believe that the time has come to stand up and reclaim our culture from those who wish to degrade it. We are standing up for the family and against same-sex marriage, for life and against abortion, for free-enterprise and against overbearing government, for freedom of religion not freedom from religion!

If you want to be a part of this movement, here are some suggestions:

• Let your government representatives know how you feel
• Discuss these issues at home, school, work and church; get others involved!
• Partner with the Coalition of African-American pastors in our effort to communicate the importance of these issues in our communities

Sincerely,
Rev. William Owens
